Master of Science in Power Engineering Program
At postgraduate level, the Division offers the M.Sc in Power Engineering program, with a yearly intake of about 60 students. This program is designed for electrical engineering graduates who are currently working in the electric power and energy sector, or who are planning to upgrade to this area. Candidates have to take eight courses and a project, or nine courses and an independent study module. The courses are conducted in the evenings.
Master of Engineering Program (By Research)
Doctor of Philosophy Program (By Research)
Our NTU Ph.D program leads to the award of Doctor of Philosophy and the candidature typically last about three to four years. It is the principal research degree program. A smaller number of candidates are also admitted to the M.Eng program which last from one to two years. The Division has both full-time and part-time candidates. Most full-time Ph.D candidates are funded by research scholarships from NTU or external organizations. The research being carried out by the candidates in the Division is primarily based on power engineering technologies and can be broadly classified under the following strategic research areas:
- Clean and Renewable Energy Systems
- Intelligent Energy Distribution and Storage
- Efficient Energy Conversion and Utilization
- Power Systems and Power Electronics
